Current Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Multiple flips, multiple combos and extremely technical tricks dominate New Deal's Whatever. The all hip-hop soundtrack features some now classic jams from the likes of Dr. Dre and K.M.D. Viewers will be unable to peep the skaters' shoes, but rest assured, they're under those pants somewhere.

If Whatever wasn't so short, I would have been harder on it. I find that most videos from the big pants-small wheels era quickly become repetitive and mind numbing. While technically impressive, e.g. kickflips out of boardslides years before the Deca team, the skaters all look like dookie. Two exceptions here are Jordan Richter who has too brief a part for how good he is and John Montesi who has the technical prowess but also throws it down over bigger gaps. Whatever's hip-hop soundtrack is also damn fine and eases the monotony otherwise present. This is one you can live without seeing though. Go out and shred a curb for a while instead.
