Ravers would prove to be the last official Birdhouse release in the "low-budget" video genre. Before the million dollar budgets and porn stars, Ravers features a younger Heath Kirchart, Dan Rogers, and Andrew Reynolds as well as seasoned veterans Tony Hawk and Jeremy Klein.

Ravers is an interesting study in the history of skateboarding. One of the most interesting aspects of this video is watching some of today’s practitioners of great style fumble helplessly over their boards. Heath Kirchart for instance, was a product of the small wheels and big pants, tech phase. His flip tricks are so ugly even Nate Sherwood would gasp. Andrew Reynolds, Matt Beach, and Mike Yousepfour are also guilty of engaging in similar acts of technical error. Of course, we all know that these guys are the poster boys for great style in today’s world of skateboarding but I must call a spade a spade. On the flipside, Jeremy Klein, Dan Rogers, and Willy Santos demonstrate great pop and creativity. Klein jumps over everything, Rogers hits the rails, and Willy backfoot/late flips everything in sight. But the true champion of this video is none other than Ocean Howell. Howell executes smooth, fast paced lines with unequivocal grace. Ocean Howell is one of the most underrated technical skaters in the history of skateboarding. Check this one out for his part alone.
