Current Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Skate Escape is one of many skate videos that document the decadent and always over-the-top late 80's contest scene. This video is a glimpse into the world of some of the most eccentric skate stars ever to grace the vertical terrain. Also featured are the mullet-inspired ramblings of Brad Dorfman and a live musical performance from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Let's assume for a minute that most people reading this review are under the age of 25. To you I say: Check this one out for it's historical nature. It's always a good idea to learn about your roots. Under 25ers, STOP READING. For the rest of you, I've got one thing to say: SWEET! Oh yeah, this video is a testament to the excessive nature of the 80's contest scene we all grew up loving. Check out the roster! All the great vert dogs are featured: Miller, Magnusson, McGill, etc. All these skaters are in their prime and shredding the almighty contest like it was their last. Oh yeah, it was damn close to their last contest wasn't it! Needless to say, flawless runs go down, complete with McTwists and crailtaps. So, if you’re past being "too cool" to admit that you love this shit, Skate Escape is a must see. And by the way, guess who won the contest?
