Falling Down
101
1993, 9 minutes
Current Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
101’s Fallen Down is an early 90’s promo from the world of obscure, seemingly unimportant footage, which time has forgotten. The footage is all street and very technical. While the tricks are thrown down on low curbs or off very low ledges, it is simply in the name of progression. A young Koston is perhaps the most familiar skater of the bunch, but is by no means the most talented in this film.

As it turns out, skateboarding didn’t simply go from the Bones Brigade, to Transworld and the ever-controversial Muska. In between lies the wide world of tech, where tricks go unnamed due to their ridiculous complexity, in this case, with crappy footage to boot. For those of you, who (like me) thought that PJ Ladd's technical style came out of nowhere, you can think again. This video proves that the board can do anything you will it to do, provided you have the talent and the drive. For those of you seeking refuge from the handrails and hammers of today, look to Fallen Down.
