Tobaccoland Nichols / Charnoski 2001, 45 minutes Current Rating: 4 out of 5 stars Tobacoland is the documentary of Coan Nichols and Rick Charnoski’s skateboard-centered travels across Europe. Most of Tabaccoland is shot on film, but there's some video in there as well. Though skateboarding decides where they go, sessions only comprise about half of the video. Most of the skating takes place in pools and parks, but there’s a couple of street parts as well. The duo starts in Holland with a vert ramp session, then goes to a world championship contest in Germany, on to the Mystic Cup contest in Prague, to a park Burnside’s constructors are building in Austria, and then on to Spain and France as the final destination. August 07, 2003 The clips used to piece together Tobaccoland seem as though they came from anything Nichols and Charnoski thought was interesting or amusing, regardless of what it was. The bottom line is Tobaccoland is put together really well. The video comes together and views as one fluid story versus a bunch of parts clumsily patched together. Watch it while eating dinner or doing whatever and every time you happen to look at it you'll see something interesting. This one gets me more excited to travel than skate, but the skating is still tops. Who Farted?
