Are you standing there with a skateboard and don't know what to do next? Well, this video will walk you through the very basic steps of learning how to skate. Tony, along with Brian Sumner and Kris Markovich, take you step-by-step starting from the equipment you need for a good session to maneuvering around a skatepark doing boardslides, 50-50s, kickflips, heelflips and more.

This video is great for anyone who's starting out. Tony Hawk and the crew teach everything from the very basic techniques like pushing off and kick-turns, to more intermediate slides and grinds. Itís also relatively inexpensive, compared to most skate videos and can be found on the Internet, your local skate shop, or even at your local Best Buy. In general, itís a great video for any beginner.

If you're 8 years old and you're still playing with the Tech Decks you got for your birthday, Tony Hawk's Trick Tips will help you move on to the big leagues. However, as great as this video is at teaching kids how to ollie, I've always thought that skateboarding is best learned though hanging with homies and pushing each other to land new tricks. To me, buying Tony Hawk's Trick Tips is as silly as purchasing a tape that shows me how to dribble a basketball. Unfortunately, I can't help but feel like it was marketed toward the 40-year-old suburban mother who wants to get her kid a nice stocking stuffer to go along with the complete she ordered on sale from CCS. My advice to all you moms is to save your money and let your kids learn and have fun skating with their friends, unless, of course, they don't have any.
