Tilt Mode! NC Clothing 2000, 40 minutes Current Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars Tilt Mode!, the first video featuring the Tiltmode Army, is a pure street skating video brought to us by the NC Clothing crew. The video is loaded with pranks and skating from proud soldiers that include Jerry Hsu, Louie Barletta, Marc Johnson and many other San Jose rippers. Tilt Mode! presents a variety of hammers on flat ground, ledges and rails. The soundtrack has a mix of old rock, new rock, hip-hop and some music beyond description. July 19, 2002 The Tiltmode Army is all about having a good time, and their first video shows it. Instead of the hammer routine that most videos go by these days, people like Jerry Hsu and Marc Johnson simply make skateboarding look fun again. Just watch Louie Barletta's part. No 15-stair switch backside lips -- just 100% goofin' around with friends and skateboards. And it’s not like the tricks aren't impressive; they just aren't what you see in your average skate video. I really like the soundtrack as well, with oldies, emo, and some random shit that will make you laugh. EnjoiSkateboarding January 19, 2003 It seems like most of these guys weren’t taking it too seriously while filming for their parts, which makes Tilt Mode! refreshingly different from most other videos. In fact, I don’t think Louie Barletta even lands a fourth of his tricks, but that doesn’t seem to matter. It reminds me of the sessions I usually have with my friends, except that these guys are good enough that it actually looks cool when they’re goofing off. Don’t be fooled by the jovial nature of this video, though. There are a lot of really impressive tricks, especially Marc Johnson’s whole part. Other highlights include cameos from Tim Brauch and Jason Adams, and Jerry Hsu’s crazy style. This is one of the most original and entertaining videos I've seen in a while. Egg
