Issue #28
411 VM
1998, 60 minutes
Current Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
Typical 411 style, very formatted. Parts from relative unknowns such as John Lee, Evan Schiefelbine, and Dorian Tucker and Rookie Pros Gideon Choi, Joe Pino, Mathias Ringstrom and Kenny Reed. A Tampa Vert/Street contest part you wont want to miss and cool spaced out segments. Mostly street skating but balanced out by such diverse skateboarders.

I can’t help but be slightly biased here, because around the time this video came out, skateboarding was so rad for me and this video only brings back memories of a time when skateboarding felt so different. Its cool watching this video now because I appreciate Gideon Choi’s amazing lines, Evan Schiefelbine’s creativity, Joe Pino’s pop, and Kenny Reed’s unique style. This video, with all its lackluster, commercials, and boring 411 droning is made great with the appearances of Gideon Choi and Kenny Reed. Gideon does lines with a minimum of 4 tricks, each performed immaculately with a flow you don’t see from today’s tech oriented skateboarders. If this review can serve as nothing more than a block of words huddled like sheep waiting for their daily grub, it can serve as an excellent parallel to 411 28.
