This is Alien Workshop's third entry in the skate video world. It is strictly street skating except for one trick by Danny Way, who was supposed to have a full part, but unfortunately got injured just prior to filming. There are a lot of techy ledge tricks performed at the now defunct Love Park in Philadelphia, which may render some a little bit misty eyed. The soundtrack ranges from rap and electronic beats to rock n’ roll.

While style and precision are cornerstones of this video, it lacks excitement and mind-blowing feats of skateboarding skill. Of course there are many fine examples of technical street skating amidst the glory of Love Park, but this video comes before skaters like Mark Appleyard had reached their prime, and is thus diminished. Throughout the bulk of this video, you'll never be disappointed, but you might not be impressed either. Considering the attention span of us troubled youths, I wouldn’t recommend the purchase of Photosynthesis.

This is a solid video that stays true to form with everything we have come to expect thematically from Alien Workshop. There are a wide variety of angles, filters, and cameras used to capture each skater's unique style. Yes, there are those odd skits that The Workshop is infamously known for, but they are short enough to not be overly annoying. You won't even need the FF button, because all of the skaters put together very good (although short) video parts. I especially like Kerry Getz with his amazingly quick-footed and ultra-precise style. Josh Kalis' big switch ups will probably raise an eyebrow too. Heck, there are good things to be said about everyone's part! This is surely a video to add to your collection.
